Decorating Ideas: Interior Designer Crush

My local interior designer crush – Nyree Mackenzie.

Nyree is edgy, ridiculously talented and I’m utterly infatuated with everything she designs.

I first discovered Nyree’s work when she completed the interior overhaul of Byron Bay’s La La Land. And I couldn’t get over what a brilliant space she had created. The design feels opulent, but inviting and incorporates loads of vintage touches; which is, of course, right up my alley!

From exotic lighting to-die-for, plush seating, wood-panelled walls, vintage lamps, old tins used as planters, rich ornate hanging pictures, 60’s peacock chairs and the list goes on…

The lavishness and coziness just pulled me in. So artistic. So poetic. So Moorish (and moreish). I just love it all!

And don’t get me started on Nyree’s other beautiful projects including Coorabella House (see dedicated post here), Holy Grail Melbourne, FINS Restaurant and Byron Fresh Cafe. Just get ready to be inspired.

Oh and, if you’re anything like me, you’ll be on the hunt for a large palm chandelier, vintage boho peacock prints and antique Indian pillars by the time you’ve finished scrolling (actually I’ve already tracked down the palm chandelier and they can be purchased at Gypset Cargo by clicking here…haha ).

Have a great weekend, vintage lovers.
